I asked my friend AG, former MTV manager what songs he listens to, and he recommended the following country music:
Toby Keith –
I like the beat to Toby Keith’s “I wanna talk about me”, found the music video very amusing and real. Ladies, we are always talking about ourselves, and I can imagine L thinking the same way. L says he used up all his words in the office, so at home, he just likes to chill.
I will be brave.
Darlin don’t be afraid
I’ve loved you for a thousand years
All along, I believe I will find you.
Surprisingly, my husband L introduced this song to me, via the Piano Guys version, set amidst greenery. I doubt he knew the lyrics of the Christina Perri’s song but I felt it was so meaningful.
My 7 yr old nephew R and 3 yr old niece R were singing this song about a plastic bag. They learnt it from their sister, ten-year old R.
I was so excited to discover the lyrics, as R was quite frustrated when I sang “Do you have a feel… for a plastic bag”????
Rest of the lyrics is quite inspiring.
About being original and not replaced. Definitely a GEN Y message.
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make ’em go “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ’em all in “awe, awe, awe”
You don’t have to feel like a wasted space
You’re original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it’s time, you’ll know
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
L and I recently led our hair down and watched the Avengers. There’s something about the big screen. Sure beats watching it at home.
Do super-humans exist?
L introduced me to this interesting documentary by Stan Lee, creator of the original Marvel Comics Super-heros.
Superhumans who can wield a gun and shoot faster than Clint Eastward.
A blind musician who can hear music and play it back note for note.
A human beatbox who can play a variety of instruments, or in his own words, a whole orchestra, in his mouth.
